CPR data for model validation (MEECE project)

SAHFOS has provided the following plankton variables obtained from CPR records in the North Sea and Biscay region (North East Atlantic, Fig.1) for the validation of the models used in the Eu-FP7 project MEECE (www.meece.eu):
- Total phytoplankton abundance calculated as the total number of diatoms and dinoflagellates
- Abundance of the non-indigenous phytoplankton species Odontella sinensis and Coscinodiscus wailesii.
The CPR routes along which the data were collected are shown in Fig. 2.

Figure 2. CPR routes along which plankton was monthly sampled since 1958.
Monthly records of PCI, total diatoms, total dinoflagellates, O. sinensis, C. wailesii and biomass of zooplankton functional groups collected between 1960 and 2007 are available under request to MEECE participants according to the SAHFOS data policy requirements for the use of CPR data.
The data will be provided in the format and at the spatial resolution requested.
