Work experience 2012
Following on from last years' successful work experience programme, SAHFOS has 3 unpaid work experience positions from 6- 17th August 2012.
SAHFOS operates and maintains the Continuous Plankton Recorder survery in Plymouth. The aim of the programme is to encourage and give people the opportunity to learn more about SAHFOS and help them gain valuable experience in the work place amidst a unique marine research environment.
Unfortunately, due to Health and Safety regulations we are unable to accept applications from those under 16 years old
The posts will be un paid, however reasonable travel expenses will be paid.
1. Assistant Education Officer
SAHFOS is looking for proactive and imaginative assistant education officer who can help with various design tasks to produce new outreach materials for the Foundation. The candidate must be computer literate and would probably suit someone with an artistic background.
SAHFOS is looking for an assistant to help with the curation of important taxonomic books and guides in our laboratory. The candidate must be computer literate.
3. General CPR workshop assistant
SAHFOS is looking for person to assistant technicians to help the CPR workshop staff with general and minor maintenance of the CPRs and associated equipment. The position would be ideal experience for a young person seeking an apprenticeship or a Level 2/3 engineering course.
