Dr Priscilla Licandro
Research Fellow

Role:

As As a Research Fellow I carry on research relating plankton and fish stocks and studying gelatinous plankton long-term changes based on CPR data and other time series in the North Atlantic and Mediterranean.

I aI am also part-time CPR plankton analyst.

Background, qualifications and professional membership:

Research Interests:

My recent research focuses on the spatio-temporal variability of plankton in the Mediterranean, Atlantic Ocean and North Sea. The aim is to identify, based on long-term observations, regions where the plankton variability was greatest and to verify whether changes in the plankton may be related to significant fish stocks variability (see DEFRA and RECNOR contracts, under "Responsibilities"). Currently involved in the study of long-term variability of gelatinous plankton in the Mediterranean, I have initiated in collaboration with Richard Kirby a study on jellyfish biodiversity based on CPR samples.  I am also involved in the study of non-indigenous species and in the use of CPR data for model validation (see FP7 MEECE contract, under "Responsibilities").
